Tallman and Suffern firefighters responded overnight to South Airmont Road near Route 59 after a tractor-trailer crashed into a utility pole.

The downed wires were first believed to be live electrical lines but were later determined to be cable wires. A Rockland Hatzoloh ambulance carrying a patient to Good Samaritan Hospital was passing the scene and became caught in the wires. It was freed safely and continued to the hospital.

Faist EMS and Ramapo Police also responded, and Orange & Rockland Utilities was called to the scene. No injuries were reported.
